31 citizen projects for improvement of the environment are to be elected in order to decide which deserve municipal funding
A vote for citizens’ project will take place in Rouen, France between the 7th and the 18th of November. The selection among 31 projects is divided in 4 thematic categories:
The full list of project ideas is available at the page of Rouen Municipality and at rouenensemble.fr. The most liked ideas will receive municipal funding up to 1 million euro and will be implemented during the following three years. The voting rights are extended to all users of the public spaces: those who live work and study in Rouen.
The participatory budgeting is only one of many forms of civic participation, practiced in Rouen, such as local urban workshops, urban promenades, citizen councils in the priority neighbourhoods of the city, assemblies and thematic commissions, right to referral to the city council, neighbourhood programmes.
