The 10th edition of the Senior Academy in Karlovy Vary has recently been announced. The Czech city will be providing adults with a set of lectures, practical exercises as part of a project for crime prevention of the municipal police. During the nine-month training cycle, participants acquire information, knowledge and skills that are important for their safety and orientation in various areas - from transport to the use of Internet. It also provides them with opportunity to have quality time and establish social contacts.
The intensive study program runs from October 2019 to June next year and includes 25 lecture days, 75 lessons in total. Optional courses are also offered to practice some specific knowledge and skills. Of course, attendance of 90% is required in order to be eligible for a certificate. The entire educational program is subsidized by the Statutory City of Karlovy Vary and the Municipal Police of Karlovy Vary and is free of charge for all applicants.
The academy is currently accepting applications and the number of students is limited to 25 per classroom. Completed applications must be submitted by Friday 20th September 2019 to the Municipal Police of Karlovy Vary or directly to the Department of Prevention and Supervision in the People's House.
