This small German village is now sold

It has a population of 20 people

The German village of Alwine, was sold for 140,000 euros after only one person took part in the auction. The village has been empty for quite some time, however, it serves as a reminder of Germany's pre-1989 past.

120 kilometers south from Berlin, Alwine is the home of no more than 20 retired people, living in run-down houses. Mayor of Uebigau-Wahrenbrück, where Alwine is located, remarked that it is unfortunate that such small regions " feel left alone with their problems".
