Thirty artworks will light up the historic city centre of Amsterdam during the 53-day exhibition
Amsterdam's winter festival returns each year to illuminate the city's streets. Amsterdam’s city center is lit up by dozens of innovative and high quality light art installations from Dutch and international artists during the Amsterdam Light Festival. This year's event runs from 29 November 2018 until 20 January 2019.
For 53 days, the works can be admired in the historic inner city daily from 17:00 to 23:00. The festival can be enjoyed by boat, by bike, or on foot, on your own initiative or by booking a tour with one of the official festival partners. This year's theme is “The Medium is the Message”, the famous statement by the Canadian scientist Marshall McLuhan.
