The transport offer aims to provide critical staff with a transit option during Phase 2 of the national lockdown
The Italian startup Busrapido has inaugurated a new service for the transportation of workers to counter and prevent the spread of Covid-19 during the country's new delicate reopening phase. Because of the reduced levels of functioning of public transport levels and with operators having to impose social distancing measures, the new service aims to provide critical staff with a transit option during the national lockdown.
As you know, one of the countries hardest hit by the coronavirus pandemic was Italy. This is the reason for the cooperation between the UK bus sharing company Zeelo and the Rome-based bus platform Busapido (meaning Fast bus in Italian) to launch commuter transport for companies employing key workers in the country.
The new service offers drivers full personal protective equipment. For the passengers - hand sanitiser and social distancing thanks to the use of booking technology that monitors the number of people on board.
Both innovation companies have cooperated with the common aim to help the Italian workforce, by using state-of-the-art technology and software to develop and deliver a new form of transport service, sorely needed in this complicated situation. There will be a mobile app for passengers to book their trips and track the bus with routes optimized to ensure pick-up locations are as convenient as possible.
It is clear to all people, that commuter travel has to change completely in a post-coronavirus world. From now on, the way we all travel to work has to transform with the safety of passengers and drivers becoming its most important aspect.
All transport companies have to support the ongoing challenges we all face in providing safe transportation to keep the world going. In this regard, shared transport must also change. Providing safe transportation and social distancing possibilities will be vital in helping companies re-open for business.
